Re: So if we beat Swansea and Man Utd and Man City lose at Arsenal
Can see Arsenal beating Man City to be honest, and reckon Norwich will get a point against ManU, we beat Swansea and the ball is very much in our court, 4th place is ours to lose on the last day.

Can also see a demoralised Man City losing there last game as well, so maybe the Stoke game wont be of consequence, who cares about Man U last game if they cant get anything but a win against Norwich, be to late for them, even a draw no matter what the other results will see them 5th at best unless due to the huge goal difference with City, unless of course they produce a couple of cricket scores!

A demoralising loss for City last night was the best result... they wouldn't have rested players for the final in any case, it's not until the 28th.... Kompany out, Toure completely uninterested... Arsenal with something to prove, I'm a bit too excited by the prospect of 4th place.

In my calmer moments I accept that anything above 6th is a bonus.... going to all three remaining games and just going to enjoy the moment!

Re: So if we beat Swansea and Man Utd and Man City lose at Arsenal
Now that Man City are out 4th place will be confirmed Champions League.

With Kompany injured again and Man City coming off the back of 2 defeats, Arsenal will stand a decent chance.

Man City have lost at home to Leicester, Spurs, Man Utd, West Ham and Liverpool this season, all of the current top 8 except for Southampton (who just smashed them at St Mary's).

Let's not forget that Swansea are hitting some form and will be no walkover, but we should beat them if we keep to our current standards and if we do, then Champions League qualification could be in our own hands!

Agreed Hammer1993. ManC win tonight thus concentrate on Champ Lge & rest players for Arsenal. Even if they win & come fifth we still get champs league for 4th.

What happens if Man City win the Champions League but finish outside the top 4? With Liverpool not winning Europa..

I think best scenario would be they win tonight (unlikely) and have Pellegrini focusing on the Champions League win not giving a monkeys about League as he is off next season, with them then losing the final?

I'm not sure that I want Europe next season, especially the Europa league. The year after, maybe.

Re: So if we beat Swansea and Man Utd and Man City lose at Arsenal
It's going to be a fascinating end to the season and we have a genuine chance, albeit an outside chance, of finishing 4th.

To do it, we have to win our last 3 games - that's a given. If we do that, we finish above Man Utd, which gives us 5th place. To finish 4th we have to catch City. There's no way they are going to lose at home to Bournemouth but their match against Arsenal will be interesting because I would imagine Arsenal will be busting a gut to catch Spurs.

Another fascinating twist is that Guardiola could be facing City in the CL final knowing that if he beats them, his new team won't have CL football next season.

Or maybe none of the above will happen - looks like Bayern are losing so that little idea is out the window.

stranger things have happened but I don't see any other result tomorrow than man city having their heads kicked in by RM.

I'm not convinced it will be a good thing if next Tuesday becomes a huge game for us. The added pressure in the quarter-final replay did not do us any favors.

Regardless, I'm just happy we have something to play for in the last few games that doesn't involve a relegation battle. Usually it's either that or coasting in mid-table mediocrity.

I genuinely think that if we win our last three games we will definitely snatch fourth. The rest will take care of itself, let's do our bit!

Been saying the same thing for a while. It will be far bigger than the FA Cup match, could even be the situation where the winner qualifies for the Champions League.......as long as they win their last match as well of course.

So just add a Villarreal draw or win to that list.

Re: So if we beat Swansea and Man Utd and Man City lose at Arsenal
Bottom line is that if we win our three games and Man City take a maximum of 3 pts from their remaining two games (Arse (H), Swansea (A)) we will finish 4th. So either a loss for Man CIty vs. Arse or two draws will be enough for us.

The only thing then that could fuck us is that if Man City win the CL and Liverpool win the Europa, 4th place won't give a CL spot.

Man City have lost AT HOME to Leicester, Spurs, Man Utd, Us and Liverpool so far this season. They basically have a terrible record against the better teams in the division but are consistent in beating those in the bottom half. They wont find Arsenal an easy prospect.

Even a draw wouldn't be the end of the world
Swansea are well capable of getting a draw against them at home and that even keeps the goon in the mix although I can't see them not beating villa

If we beat Swansea and Arsenal win against City, the game against the Mancs will be one of the most important ever staged at the ground, even if wasn't the last game ever there.

So looking forward to it. Starting to dream and convince myself it will happen.

Re: So if we beat Swansea and Man Utd and Man City lose at Arsenal
If we beat Swansea on Saturday and Man City lose to Arsenal, that sets up a HUGE game against Man Utd on Tuesday where we could leap-frog both Man Utd and Man City with a 4th place finish in our own hands!

Could be an exciting finish, but first up lets do a professional job on Swansea and see where is leaves us.

Re: So if we beat Swansea and Man Utd and Man City lose at Arsenal
With City going to Madrid and Arsenal having Spurs in their sights I could see Arsenal winning there, and they will probably prefer playing away right now too.

Still a small matter of us having to win our last 3 games though of course.

I saw earlier somewhere City were near the bottom of the table against top 8 and that was definitely before the Southampton game.

I can see Norwich getting a point against Man U and even Bournemouth is not a gimme but first, it's imperative we beat the red cunts
